nolenreads,
I'm going to announce right at the start that I've always been a fan of Deborah's since I met her at the conference where she met her wonderful agent. That said, I've dogged her steps not because I'm a crazed stalker, but because she has a great attitude and ability. She writes great novels. I also write novels set in the UK, but she is much more prolific. When she asked for name suggestions for very minor characters I offered my mother's name. My mother was such a fan of any suspense and murder mysteries set in the UK, her ancestry had something to do with it, plus her love of good literature. So when I saw my mother's name in this good novel, I was thrilled. I know my mother would have been over-the-top about it if she were still with us. Thank you, Deborah Crombie for inserting my mother's name in your delightful novel.
I loved the food in this novel. It all sounded scrumptious. And the villain was such wicked person for spoiling it all for everyone. Every time someone looked up there was a police officer. None-the-less, the story had a resounding forward pace that didn't let up. I look forward to the next Kincaid and Gemma James novel now. Highly recommended so you can see my mother's name in there, too. Mary Thompson. . You'll love the book.
